India still finds it difficult to win test series outside home conditions. The record has become even worse under Dhoni’s captaincy, as the team has now lost 6 tests in a row in Australia. Indians have tried fast bowling, abusing Aussies but still find a way to lose. Finally team boss Ravi Shastri came with a master plan. Given that Indians love home food, he has decided that the team needs to have dedicated caterers, vegetarian and meat based.
Shastri said, “Yes, it is true I told the boys if you slash, slash hard. Mitchell Johnson overheard it and followed it to a T. Ball went like a tracer bullet to the boundary. Ishant and Raina missed home food and they had to eat from a pavement vendor. So, I decided why not home catering? I have spoken to Mr. Srinivasan and he has agreed for caterers as long as we have one or two from Chennai.”
It is learnt that from the Boxing Day test, India will have dedicated food vendors who will cover from breakfast to dinner. The following is the selection:
BREAKFAST PARTNERS

LUNCH PARTNERS
- Sukhdev Dhaba, Murthal
- Mahesh Lunch Home, Mumbai
- Paradise Biryani, Hyderabad
TEA PARTNERS
- India Coffee house

- Indubehn Khakrawala, Ahmedabad.
DINNER PARTNERS
- Nizams, Kolkata
- Kesar ka Dhaba, Amritsar
Each player will be tagged to one restaurant and whenever he hits a four, it will be called “Murugan Idly boundary” or “ Murthal Dhaba sixer” .
Moreover, to make things easier for Indian players, the umpires have agreed to use Hindi terms for lunch and tea. They will announce lunch with “Chalo, khana taiyyar [Come, food is ready]” and tea with “Chai, garam chai” . Drinks also will be brought in cycles with the rider ringing the bell and saying “Thanda paani [Cold water]” .
“I am bored of saying, cricket was the winner. Hopefully with this strategy, I can say in the end there was only one winner and that was India,” said Shastri.
Ravi Shastri said that this arrangement will go on till the end of ODI series. For the world cup, a select panel will be formed with Rocky and Mayur of “Highway on my plate” fame. Since restaurant businesses constitute a miniscule proportion of BCCI office bearer’s empires it is felt that there will be no conflict of interest. The final list will be approved by the Supreme Court.
